That message is what helps us teach the public of how vital it is that we understand accurate history, that we embrace respect cultural differences, and that we celebrate the heritage of all peoples of the Northern Plains.
Far before sites are selected, or buildings get designed, The Fort Abraham Lincoln Foundation begins building the message it wants to convey. The foundation achieves this through thorough historical research, the inclusion of cultural representatives, and the careful curation of a lessons,

River Stories Podcast
This thoughtful podcast relates the interconnected stories of the Missouri River within the Northern Plains National Heritage Area and central North Dakota. Developed for the expressed purpose of playing aboard The Lewis & Clark Riverboat located at the Port of Bismarck. Developed in partnership with The State Historical Society of North Dakota. A special thank you to Northern Plains Heritage Alliance, and all those who contributed especially Alisha Deegan, Justin Deegan, Erik Deitrich, Damita Engel, Dakota Goodhouse, and Rob Hanna.
Talking Trail Collaboration
The Fort Abraham Lincoln Foundation was proud to partner with Talking Trails LLC in a collaborative effort to aid the creation of some of Talking Trails content. Talking Trail goes beyond the line or two found on a sign and connects your guests with the whole story. Content is curated by Talking Trail writers who source the rich stories from local experts. Talking Trail connects YOU to users already enjoying the easy to use Talking Trail platform, which is available for free on iOS and Android. Users will be notified when they are within a specified distance of a Talking Point, so you can grab travelers that might otherwise miss out on your adventure. Plus, the Apple connected map gives users step by step directions to their desired Talking Point!
Vinterfest Participation
Vinterfest is a month-long celebration of winter, here on the Northern Plains. The festival seeks to promote educational, recreational, and cultural heritage programming throughout central North Dakota for the public’s enjoyment. From artisan workshops to cross-country skiing, Vinterfest invites you to learn new hobbies and share in time-honored traditions.
